Living in the city with a baby is hard enough but even worse when I forget something. My husband and I each have a parking spot in a lot created for our group of town homes, which is great. BUT why is it that I always seem to remember leaving something behind after getting Isabella strapped in her car seat? Why doesn’t that bubble pop over my head before getting to the car about Isabella’s cup sitting on the table ready to go, or my phone sitting on the ottoman that I forgot to put in my bag, or the stack of diapers I brought down from her room because the diaper bag needed a refill? I seriously could go on and on. I can’t just leave her in the car while I run back into the house quick. I have to unstrap her, run back into the house, get what I forgot, run back out to the car and strap her back into the car seat. I’ve tried the list thing but I always forget to write something on that list. UGH! What is my problem? After ready a lot about pregnancy, I came across what some call “Mommy Memory” or “Mommy Brain”. Research has shown that a woman’s brain actually shrinks- some say between 3-5 percent and other say between 4-8 percent. Regardless of the correct percentage, the remaining facts are that something happens within the brain of a pregnant woman which causes her brain to shrink in size when she’s prego. Take a look at this study. Or this one. There is a ton of research information out there and a lot of the facts seem to be the same. I’m just glad that in one of these I have read that my brain should have come back to it’s original size by now. Even though I still seem to be forgetting things. Oh the things I have to look forward to when pregnant with baby #2 or 3.

OMG I am the same way — I have total Mommy brain. My hubby says it just me being a ditz, but I like to call it Mommy brain too! I am glad to know I am not alone w/ this. LOL
