I received a Knot Fleece Blanket as a gift when Isabella was first born. Thanks so much Kerrie, we love it! After taking a good look at how it was made I decided to make a bunch of my own. They are so easy! They cost 1/3 of the price of what you would pay for a blanket in the store and they make great gifts.

The first step is picking out the fabric. Pick a print that fits the occasion, theme of a nursery, girl or boy. When choosing fabrics you can pick a solid for both sides, a solid and a pattern or both sides a pattern. You choose! If making a baby blanket I suggest 2 yards for each side of the blanket. For example, if you using the same pattern for both sides of the blanket you can just get 4 yards. If choosing a solid and a pattern, buy 2 yards of each. For larger blankets double or triple the yards. These are so fun!

*Take both pieces of fabric and place them on top of one another. Making both sides of fabric the same size.

Solid and Pattern

*Cut a 2 inch square out of each corner. You should be cutting both pieces of fabric at one time.

Corners folded and cut

*Fold and cut each side of the blanket up in depth 3 inches.

Each side cut

*When all sides are cut you should have 6 inch tassels on each side. Don’t worry if they are not the exact same size as one another.

Blanket cut

*Tie both tassels from each side of the different fabrics together in a double knot.

complete blanket

*Here you have it…a cute girlie baby fleece blanket. So cute right!?
