Birthday’s come and go pretty quickly and I can’t believe my little girl just turned 1! I feel like “I” really didn’t get time to enjoy her day. I spent the whole day running around, making sure the guests were fine and before I knew it the day was over. We have plenty of pictures and videos and was planning on putting together a album for Isabella for a keepsake. Who doesn’t love looking back and laughing at the adolescent days? After we sang Happy Birthday, she dug into her cake and her birthday outfit was a goner. Cake everywhere! Up her nose, in her diaper and all over her face. I was automatically going to toss her birthday girl shirt in the wash when my cousin suggested I make a keepsake shadow box. She’s never going to wear that shirt again and why not leave it as is? What a brilliant idea! That week I went to Target bought a shadowbox and put everything I could in it for us to look back at and smile. I kept her shirt as is with all the icing everywhere. I cut up a couple of the cute cards from friends and family, I included her birthday hat and still want to include a picture. All the extra cards, I placed behind the shirt in the box. I stapled everything to the box and wahla! What a great keepsake memory from her first birthday. I love it!
