NOT a fan of Johnson’s baby daily face and body lotion $3

Today is the day to be Debbie Downer! I’m a huge fan of most of Johnson’s products but this past weekend my mother in law introduced me to this New Johnson & Johnson Baby daily face and body sunscreen lotion and I’m not a big fan. Yes, it did it’s job and worked well for SPF 40 but Isabella looked like a mime walking out of the house. The cream is white and didn’t rub in well at all. I finally had to wipe off her face and went back to my other baby sunscreen. No more tears for baby but what about us moms? I almost cried when my daughter looked like a clown after the application. And…Isabella wanted to cry too because she wanted me to stop touching her face. Mom’s if your reading this and have used this new lotion, please feel free to add your honest thoughts. Did you have a different experience or does my childs skin not absorb this new lotion well? lol Thanks in advance! Johnson’s baby daily face and lotion is NOT stamped with Approval by Baby or Momma!

UVSkinz Review

As a mom protection is key when heading to the pool or at the beach. The solar system is getting worse by the minute and the UV rays are stronger and stronger. Knowing Isabella and I were going to be spending the weekends on the beach I was looking for a bathing suit with full coverage. UVSkinz came to the rescue. With UPF 50+ UV protection woven into the fabric gives me a piece of mind when Isabella is running around in the sun. I know she is protected and after using this suit for half of the summer already, I can say we have had NO BURNS!! I also love that there is a built-in swim liner for added protection for no need of swim bottoms or diapers. If you insist on using a swim diaper just in case of a accident, there is plenty of room. I use them under Isabella’s shorts and she seems to be comfortable and not bothered by them. Diapers Causing Burn/Blister like rashes

Only our closest family and friends know about what we have been going through lately with Isabella. My family has been worried and we have been sick to our stomachs. We were recently back and fourth to our Pediatrician for weeks because of a really bad rash she has been getting in her private area. We have been given several different prescriptions for Antibiotics and it keeps coming back. I’m not even going to go into detail of my first appointment about this concern and what they said it “could” be because I literally fell to the floor crying! They then said not to worry, they are going to run tests. Anthony and I were worried out of our mind, not to mention, the thoughts of who could of done this to our daughter and how could this happen? I’m a stay at home mom and only family members watch Isabella. After a couple of hours of tests being run, they came back negative. They just kept giving us the run around and nobody seems to know what it was. Our last appointment I said to our Ped. “Please don’t take this personally, but if it comes back we are going straight to our dermatologist”. Of course he did take offense and said, they are just going to say the same thing.

We then try to think of what I have changed that could have caused this blistering? The only thing I have switched/changed in her routine were her diapers. We started to use White Cloud Training pants. After having the feeling these were the Issue, I stopped using them. We have thankfully not been back to the doctors about this concern for about 3 weeks. But, I am appalled by what I am hearing from other moms having the same issue as me with Pampers Dry Max. Although, I’ve never used these diapers I am wondering if both companies are using something in these diapers to cause this rash. If you take a look at these two facebook pages, Pampers bring back OLD CRUISER/SWADDLERS AND Boycott New Pampers, there are a TON of complaints. So many I truly feel there should be a recall!!!! I am shocked at some of the responses I am hearing that moms have heard from P&G after complaining.

I am also wondering if any other moms are having this problem with White Cloud diapers. We use Target Brand Diapers for regular use but when I started to Potty train I was using Pull-ups. We were going through them so fast, I then switched to Whitle Cloud because of the cost. I really feel these diapers were what was causing the blister like rash and even told my Pediatrician the same. The pictures on this facebook page are EXACTLY what Isabella’s rashes looked like. When describing them to people and our Pediatrician, we said they were like open blisters that formed overnight. I don’t want this to happen to any more babies and we need to find a way to fix this issue. Our poor children should not being going through such pain and after weeks of going to our Pediatrician and them giving us the run around telling us that Isabella’s AWEFUL rash is eczema, I have come across these facebook pages and articles about Pampers Dry Max Diapers causing what moms are calling “Chemical Burns”. We need to figure this out. Please let me know or comment below if anyone else if having this concern too. I really don’t know what to do but with this many complaints and issues of the same occurrence, something needs to be done!

Dove Real Beauty Campaign

Has anyone seen the videos and messages from The Dove Real Beauty Campaign? A good friend sent me one of their videos suggesting a great blog post. The moment Anthony and I found out we were having a little girl our hearts dropped. We were more than excited but we also know what all comes with having a girl. I’ll throw a couple examples out there…Puberty, boys, make-up….Self Esteem!!!!! Just to name a few. Growing up I dealt with this at one point in my life, 8th grade. It was horrible! I had colored my hair red and everyone called me Big Red. My mom had very little money for clothes and I got made fun of for having last seasons sneakers. It was sad looking back how kids acted toward me and others. BUT looking at the now, most of those, now, adults are doing nothing with their life’s. The question I ask myself is, how did I overcome this bullying and actually have confidence. A big part of my life (or I should say the only thing in my life at that time) was sports. I played Softball, Tennis, Field Hockey (for a year because of conflicting sports) and cheered for both Football and Basketball. I was very involved with school activities but who is to say Isabella will be the same way? What if she isn’t a athlete or doesn’t want to be as involved. How do I teach her that being confident and true to herself is far more important than anything material or how she looks. And better yet, not care about what other people/kids think. I am going to do my best for now but only time will tell.

Healthy Self Esteem will help children handle conflicts easier and resist negative pressure. How do we teach our children to be their own person and not a follower. How do we inspire our children to have this confidence with everything we are surrounded by in the 21st century? Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Review

One of my biggest fears during pregnancy was getting stretch marks. They say it’s a hereditary thing and if that’s the case I was going to get them. During the beginning stages while talking to one of my friends Colleen (who was in one of my latest posts & pregnant with her second child) told me I had to run out and get Palmer’s Cocao Butter and rub it on my belly every day. The next day I did. I was going to do anything I could to prevent stretch marks from happening. I literally rubbed it on my belly and “backside” (if you know what I mean) everyday, twice a day and I have NO stretchmarks anywhere. This stuff is awesome!! The only downside I think about it is the smell of chocolate. My husband would always talk to Isabella when in my belly and say “ask mom why she smells like chocolate”, which I thought was hilarious. It’s not that bad though and nobody else ever said anything. Palmer’s has lotion specifically for your belly when pregnant but I just bought the regular lotion and it worked just a good. Beaute de Maman

During my pregnancy I was a emotional roller coaster. One day I was on cloud 9 and the next I was playing Grumpy from the seven dwarfs. The chemical changes in your body are normal adjustments it needs to make. There’s nothing you can do about it and there’s no medicine to help you get through it. Sorry Baby-Daddy. :/At least any I would recommend in the time of being pregnant and growing a mini you. I just came across this product called Beaute de Maman, a product I will absolutely be investing in during my second pregnancy. With Isabella I was sick through my whole first and third trimester. Ugh… I hate even thinking about it! Every morning for practically the full 9 months. The worst! Beaute de Maman has a herbal supplement treatment for nausea and vomiting. Woohoo! Thank you doctor! Studies have show that most women with this morning sickness have low vitamin D intake. This capsule has it! These capsules are tasteless, odorless and easy to swallow.
